We’re About To Get Our First Avocado-Only Restaurant
Chocolate avocado smoothies, anyone?
If avocados were a pop star, they’d probably be Justin Bieber: You may think they’re just a fad for millennials to swoon over, but their enduring appeal proves they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.
For better or for worse.
For avocado lovers in Holland, it’s for the better. Three restaurateurs are planning to open an avocado-everything cafe next month in Amsterdam’s hip De Pijp neighborhood. Called simply The Avocado Show, this restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks — all based on avocados.
For example, check out this gorgeous avocado-bun burger:
Or this pizza that has avocado baked into the cheese:
In addition to avocado pizza and avocado burgers, the restaurant’s menu will offer things like breaded avocado fries and avocado chocolate smoothies. Basically, just picture your favorite food in avocado form and they’ll probably have it on the menu. Their only rule is that dishes need to contain the green super fruit in one way or another, Ron Simpson, one of the founders, told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.
Perhaps the best thing about avocados is you can eat them guilt-free because they’re packed with nutrients. Not only do they consist of good fat, they are rich in potassium, fiber and vitamins K, C, B5, B6 and E. Tasty, nutritious and looks good on Instagram? No wonder the world can’t get enough avocado.
