This Mermaid Highlighter Is The Internet's New Obsession

Ever since strobing became the new contouring—AKA highlighting your cheekbones, AKA the lazy girl's beauty hack—there have been all kinds of life-changing highlighters on the market. First, there was rainbow face highlighter that turned you into a real life unicorn. And now, there's mermaid highlighter, which, yes, will transform you into the beautiful mermaid of your dreams.
The $40 Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Moonchild is basically the Internet's and aspiring mermaids' newest obsession. The six shade palette features pretty, iridescent shades that make your skin shimmer like a mermaid when it's applied to your skin.
It's hard to pick a favorite color in this palette—the blue moon and purple horseshoe shades seem to be the most dramatic of the six, but the icy shades like star and blue ice definitely create the luminous glow on your skin. Obvi, these are all meant to be mixed and matched together for that glowing, mermaid effect.
Beauty vlogger Jasmine Brown tested out the kit, showing all the cool things you can do with this gorgeous highlighter.
First, notice how the colors shimmer when they hit the light.
She applies a mix of shades to her collarbone for a mermaid glow.
Then, she dusts the softer colors over her cheekbones and above her brows.
Next, she takes a smaller brush to make use of the more dramatic colors that give a purple-y glow.
