Girl Who Wore A Hot Dog Costume For Princess Week Is Goals
As little girls, we always wanted to be princesses — warrior princesses, princesses in a castle, or any other kind of princess we could dream up. Once we’re given the chance to become one, we go all out!
During Princess Week in Holly Springs School of Dance in North Carolina, this little girl went above and beyond the princess requirement by dressing up as a hot dog.
Five-year-old Ainsley dressed up as a hot dog for Princess Week in dance class and won the hearts of many.
Everyone is asking why she chose a hot dog, and her response is simple: “That’s my favorite of all the dress-up costumes.”
Soon, photos of her went viral, starting the hashtag #hotdogprincess
The photos started circulating the interwebs when comedy accounts, and Youtuber Tyler Oakley, shared the little girl's story on their accounts.
Even Ainsley’s dad couldn’t believe she went viral.
Ainsley’s picture got more than 90,000 shares on The Best of Tumblr Facebook page and has over 26,000 comments.
The photos were originally shared by dance instructors Sarah Nativi and Grayson Lamontagne.
Ainsley’s teacher told Buzzfeed, “She loves princesses, but she wanted to be original and wear a hot dog costume instead. She wore a princess costume underneath it and said she was a princess on the inside!”
Ainsley inspired other girls to embrace themselves, be who they want to be and be confident
She wants to tell grownups who have come to love her costume, “Don’t be scared of what other people think.”
And all we can say is, we hope more people think outside of the bun if it incites something as inspiring as this.
