The Toothbrush Of The Future Is Super Efficient – And Terrifying
If you often find yourself running out the door to get to work and can’t brush your teeth properly, then maybe you need to get a little help from this futuristic tool — or, you know, wake up earlier so you won’t have to rush.
The company GlareSmile developed a toothbrush that looks slightly terrifying, but is amazingly efficient all the same.
One day, dentist Aldo Dominici determined that the reason we often don't brush our teeth properly is because regular toothbrushes rely on our ability to use them properly.
In an interview with Digital Trends, Dominici says, “All regular manual or electric toothbrushes have a common problem: they are totally dependent on the ability of the user to use them properly. This ability may be affected by lack of knowledge of the correct brushing technique, lack of manual ability to perform the right motion, or lack of time to dedicate the necessary two minutes. In fact, statistics show that nearly 70 percent of the population does not brush the right way, so we believed it was necessary to introduce a new device, capable of making toothbrushing independent of human skills.”
So Dominici and his friend, entrepreneur Niccolo Cerizza, designed a toothbrush that can do all the tooth cleaning you need in just 10 seconds.
The toothbrush is equipped with three rotating brushes that clean all surfaces and areas of your teeth simultaneously. All you really need to do is slide the device on your teeth and let the self-driving GlareSmile do all the work for you.
The team behind GlareSmile launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project with a goal to earn 50,000 euros.
With 648 people backing the project, they were able to raise a whooping 101,106 euros by the time the campaign ended on July 13, 2016.
GlareSmile has features you wouldn’t even think toothbrushes could have.
It has a touchscreen that lets you pick different cleaning modes. You can connect your GlareSmile toothbrush to your smartphone so you can check your daily cleaning activity or collect stats that you can show your dentist at your next appointment.
There is literally nothing like it in the teeth cleaning industry.
That’s definitely something worth smiling about.
