Everything You Need To Know About Amazon Prime Day 2016
Ready, set, shop!
July 12, 2016 will be a red-letter day for online shoppers, thanks to Amazon Prime's second Prime Day.
Prime Day has three different components:
1. Lightning Deals: These are like mini-flash sales on select items that last a few hours, but could change as quickly as every 10 minutes.
2. Spotlight Deals: According to the site, these are the best deals of the day and they're expected to sell out fast—but they're pretty quiet about what these will actually entail.
3. Savings and Deals: This is the catch all for the other lower-tier deals that will be going on all day.
Of course, deals on Segway miniPROs, the Furby Connect and 4K Ultra HD TVs are limited to Prime members only.
The site is encouraging non-Prime members to sign up for the 30-day trial before Prime Day to cash in on all the savings.
The U.S. deals begin at 3 a.m. EST, while sales for the other eligible countries will begin at midnight local time.
These other countries include Spain, Japan, France, Canada and the U.K.
The company is also recommending that shoppers use the Amazon App to get immediate notifications of new Lightning Deals and when items from their wish lists go on sale.
Amazon users with Alexa will also be able to order verbally for truly hands-free shopping.
Due to the let down of Prime Day 2015 and the popularity of #PrimeDayFail, not everyone is getting excited.
Many shoppers were less than impressed with the selection of items during last year's sale, but the company has promised to deliver this year.
Amazon is upping the game this year promising 100,000 deals and a larger stock of TVs than Cyber Monday and Black Friday combined.
They also started a "Countdown Deals" campaign leading into the sale, which does offer some pretty cool things like the Lumo Lift at a significantly reduced price.
So keep an open mind and browser tab for some great deals.
But maybe have a few #PrimeDayFail tweets in your drafts, just in case.
