Facebook Thinks It Knows You Better Than You Know Yourself
Prepare to be slightly creeped out.
Over the years, you've liked countless things on Facebook, ranging from that embarrassing band you liked in high school to your favorite TV show you binge-watched the summer before your senior year of college. Well, the entire time you've been expressing your opinions and emotions, Facebook has beens storing all of that information to get to know you on a more ~personal~ level.
So, exactly how much information does Facebook know about you? Honestly, there's no way for anyone to truly know, but there is a way to get a look into just some of the information they think they have on you besides the typical A/S/L stuff found in your "About Me."
Start by going into your personal settings.
Click the 'Ads' tabs on the left-hand side.
Go to 'Ads based on my preferences' and click 'edit.'
A little notice from Facebook will basically brace you for how much information they know about you and how they actually use it.
Each of your supposed interests are broken up by category.
Once you click a category, your interests will appear.
Supposedly, I'm into "paranormal romance" and some movie I've never heard of called "The Knot." They were on-point with the HGTV and "Wicked," though.
TL, DR: Facebook thinks they know you better than you know yourself, but they actually don't.
