An Investigation Into Trump's Campaign Finances Reveals He's Totally Broke
At least "Crooked" Hillary has the dolla dolla bills.
This week, Hillary Clinton's campaign announced that she raised $40 million along the campaign trail and already has $117 million in TV advertising time.
Good for her, that's a lot of money going to what seems to be a solidly planned-out campaign strategy.
Her main opponent, Donald Trump, has raised MUCH less.
Donald Trump has only raised $1.3 million, which is less than candidates who have dropped out of the race, like Ben Carson and even Carly Fiorina. Trump also has no scheduled TV advertising.
To be fair, Trump has funded most of his campaign himself, but this discrepancy in fundraising caused economists to look into his campaign spending. The results were less than FABULOUS.
The Donald's campaign spent over $30,000 on Draper-Sterling advertising.
That's right, the imaginary ad agency on "Mad Men" is where a lot of Trump's campaign money is going.
The company reportedly provided Trump's campaign with "web advertising."
The address goes to a house near Trump's disgraced former campaign manager's hometown and NOW the campaign is performing an investigation to make sure that Corey Lewandowski wasn't just putting the campaign funds away for himself.
Another investigator reported that most of Trump's campaign funds are going to Trump-owned companies.
Basically the self-funded end of Trump's campaign is total bullshit because he's just putting those funds back into his own businesses, and eventually back into his own pocket. He also spent almost a million dollars on his private airline and his Mar-a-Lago Club.
Trump can only afford to spend money at his own businesses and he's raised literally NO money for his campaign, so the fabulous hashtag #trumpsopoor was born.
Many used the hashtag to poke fun at his orange spray tan...
Or his wig REAL HUMAN HAIR.
Even the parody GOP accounts got in on the fun.
In a sea of wig and spray tan jokes, some activists used the hashtag to bring awareness to his financial trickery and tax avoidance.
And, although she didn't use the hashtag, Hillary also joined in the Twitter war.
On the other hand, Trump ignored the situation entirely and went back to talking about "Crooked" Hillary.
What do you think?
Should Trump release his tax forms to prove that he's not as poor as Tiny Tim? What does this financial foolishness say about his economic plans?
