Binge-Watching Is The New Boning—How Netflix Is Killing Your Sex Life
Netflix in chill, heavy on the chill
According to Cambridge statistician David Spiegelhalter, Netflix has doomed modern-day relationships.
In Spiegelhalter's recent book, Sex by the Numbers, he notes that in the 90s, couples had sex an average of five times a month. Today that number is just three.
This is a decline of 40 percent in just 20 years! Spiegelhalter warns that if this trend continues, couples won't be having sex at all by 2030.
Thanks to the constant streaming access online, couples aren't bored as often as when all the good TV shows ended at 11 p.m.
So, instead of getting it on in the bedroom, couples are catching up on '"Game of Thrones" or binging on "Jessica Jones."
He notes that the massive connectivity of our phones, computers and tablets is largely to blame for the decline in sex. But excessive tube time also cuts down on quality of sleep, which lowers the sex drive even more.
A study at the University of Michigan found that just one extra hour of sleep increased sexual desire the next day by 14 percent.
So, pause the show and get busy. We promise, it'll be a heck of a lot more fun.
But if you can't shake your addition just yet, get yourself a pair of these rings that literally lock up certain shows to prevent solo binging.
