#TwoMenKissing Is The Perfect Protest Against Homophobia
A sign of love drowning out the hate.
On Sunday morning a gunman armed with an AR-15, a handgun, explosives and a whole lot of hate walked into a gay club in Orlando, Florida and killed 49 people and leaving dozens more injured. While there are still plenty of questions as to what exactly his motive was, one thing is for sure, this was a direct attack on the LGBT community.
The gunman's father came out and said that his son became incredibly angry after seeing two men kiss in front of him in Miami a few weeks ago. That statement sparked a movement on Twitter of men sharing pictures of themselves kissing along with the hashtag #TwoMenKissing, in a defiant stand against homophobia.
The simple act, which so many of us do every day, has become a powerful symbol of defiance in the face of adversity...
Despite facing some trolls, people are not deterred from sharing their love.
Ladies are getting in on sharing the love to, reminding us that this is not an issue that impacts only gay men.
Some people got creative, showing off #TwoMenKissing in their favorite comic books...
Or in the most incredible street art.
Every photo shared is a powerful message for anyone who might try to bring people down...
Gay men and women are not going to let you stop them...
Because their love will always be more powerful than your hate.
