J.K. Rowling's Reaction To The Orlando Shooting Will Leave You In Tears
Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Over the weekend we experienced one of the most heartbreaking tragedies in American history.
On Sunday, Omar Mateen opened fire on a gay nightclub in Florida, killing 49 people and injuring countless others. This incident is both an act of terror and a hate crime directed toward the LGBT community. All but one of the victims have been identified in the last 24 hours.
One of the victims, Luis Vielma, was an employee at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios' theme park. He received a touching tribute from J.K. Rowling.
Many tweets followed Rowling's, including one from Universal Orlando.
Rowling's tweet resonated with Luis' friends and family.
What started off as one person expressing their grief from this horrible tragedy has resulted in dozens of people coming forward to reflect on Luis' kindness, character, joy and his love of the Wizarding World.
After sharing her grief and support for the friends and family of Luis, J.K. Rowling reminded us of the most important lesson of the "Harry Potter" series.
We hope that this tragedy can remind us all of the importance of love and the unmistakable value of life. Our thoughts are with the victims and all touched by this tragedy.
