This Cruise Line Has Started Dressing Cats Up As Sailors
Set sails for cat heaven.
Cruises are pretty great, but what's the one thing that would make them absolutely perfect?
That's right, cats. And yes, I did have to restrain myself from making the pun "purr-fect" in the above title.
Anyway, thanks to Russian cruise line VODOHOD, you can begin making all the wonderful cat (and nautical) puns you want, because they've recently allowed cats to become sailors. I know. It's amazing.
Of course, the cats don't exactly "do" anything—they're not salaried crew members, and they pretty just lay around in cute sailor suits. They're more like mascots used to drum up business. But still, it's adorable and going on a cruise with cats dressed in little sailor suits is basically every feline/maritime lover's dream.
LOOK AT THESE SAILOR CATS.
If they don't don't make you instantly want to take a flight to Russia solely for the purpose of going on a VODOHOD river cruise, we need to have a little chit-chat about your priorities.
The cats ride with the VODOHOD cruise line.
According to the cruise line's Facebook page, "VODOHOD offers a full-cycle all-inclusive tour product, which means that we are responsible for all services provided to our customers from the moment they arrive to Russia till the moment they leave." The cruises travel along the Moscow canal and Volga-Baltic waterway, among other places.
The company sounds pretty great and all, but these cats though.
Striped suits and little white hats? Are you kidding me? I'm not sure what the weather in Russia is right now, but I know the forecast here calls for a 100% chance of me booking a cruise.
Not only are there cat sailors, there's a cat captain too.
My God, he's so Russian and perfect, and he even has a little cat-sized life preserver. They've officially thought of everything.
Obviously, the presence of these little kitties has really helped VODOHOD drum up business.
Apparently, cruises from Moscow to St. Petersburg are more popular than ever, and I can't say that comes as a surprise.
