Gay moms would be a first for Pixar
Fans of the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend movement trending on Twitter will be fans of the newest trailer for Pixar's "Finding Dory," out June 17.
As Nemo's bud Dory embarks on a new adventure to find her parents, we catch a brief glimpse of two women tending to a baby in a stroller. One could argue that they're sisters, gal pals, or "roommates," but let's be real: it's 2016. With Ellen DeGeneres at the helm, let's hope "Finding Dory" will have more representations of queer characters than the average kids movie.
I'm guessing that since these moms are humans and most of the characters are aquatic creatures, we won't see much of them in the film. But maybe the point is that they're not the focus; they're just two parents at an aquarium, shocked to find an octopus in their baby's stroller. Maybe the big deal is that they're not a big deal at all.
