IKEA Wants To Help You Grow Your Very Own Indoor Garden
Apartment-dwelling green thumbs, rejoice!
Apartment living has never been easy for those with green thumbs, but IKEA is here to solve that problem (like they did for all your other home decor ones).
And surveys conducted by the furniture giant indicated that 60% of city dwellers polled used their kitchens to grow flowers and vegetables indoors.
The soon-to-be-released KRYDDA/VÄXER series provides all the supplies necessary to grow your own indoor garden
The sets are currently for sale in the UK and should make their way across the pond to the US by early 2017.
The coolest part is that it uses hydroponic technology so you don't have to get down and dirt-y
Hydroponics allows you to grow plants in water without soil.
Simply plant the seedlings in the provided plugs and watch them bask in the glow of the grow lamp and the tray of water that sits beneath them.
The initial set will offer a bok choy, lettuce, chard and a variety of herbs that will be ready for harvest in about seven months.
They'll bring a fresh element to any home and when they're this easy to care for, you have no excuse not to jump on the windowsill- to-table bandwagon!
