Whoever Thinks Zendaya Is Masturbating On New Mag Cover Just Doesn't Get It
Calm down people, it's fashion.
When Zendaya isn't promoting positive body image or making cameos in Beyoncé and Taylor Swift videos, she's dominating the fashion scene. The Disney star has quickly become a style icon, topping the best-dressed lists at every award show with fierce pantsuits and nude bras.
The 19-year-old's recent cover for Wonderland Magazine shows the actress/model in a gorgeous frock, but as usual, her hand placement has social media focusing on all the wrong things.
Wonderland magazine revealed its new fantastical cover, featuring Zendaya as slay-worthy as ever.
Fans blew up social media with comments about the placement of her hands, saying it looks like she's, um... masturbating.
"Did y'all purposely pick a cover that looks like a little girl touching herself. Sick!!!," one person wrote on Instagram.
"Y'all should be ashamed. Why you do her like that?," someone else wrote.
Zendaya has since fired back at "pervs" and reassured everyone it's not what it looks like.
"@wonderlandmag cover (I see what y'all saying by the hand placement lmao but that was not intentional you little pervs )," Z wrote along with several laugh-cry emojis.
Wonderland is known for its sultry photo shoots and artsy takes on fashion. According to its website, the independently-published magazine seeks to "represent the positive and the playful elements of the fashion industry."
Even if she is masturbating, would it really be that outrageous? Just think of Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas, who literally grab their crotches for Calvin Klein ads—we called those ads "sexy" so why can't Zendaya be met with the same reaction?
This isn't Zendaya's only controversial magazine spread. Last October, she called out Modeliste for photoshopping her hips to look smaller.
She posted a side-by side of the Photoshopped version and un-retouched photo on her Instagram, calling out "the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have."
Keep slayin', Z.
