The "McDonald's Of The Future" With Unlimited Fries Keeps Getting Better
McDonald's keeps giving us reasons to road-trip to Missouri.
Size officially means NOTHING.
When the franchise owner of the "McDonald's of the Future" in St. Joseph, Missouri announced plans to revamp the location, all the hype surrounded the unlimited French fries and customizable burgers. You probably thought the Golden Arches couldn't possible do any better than that.
Oh, how wrong you are.
The St. Joseph McDonald's is often the testing ground for cool new McDonald's upgrades.
According to franchise owner Chris Habiger—whose last name looks suspiciously like "hamburger"—the St. Joseph McDonald's was the first location to have a drive-thru and a breakfast menu (and later, all-day breakfast menu). As the historic testing ground for McDonald's innovations, it's now being remodeled—both the physical building and the menu.
As part of the menu upgrade, McDonald's will serve customizable desserts.
Full details have yet to be released, but we do know to expect expanded flavor options.
Unsurprisingly, St. Joe is the location where McDonald's tests out its new advertising campaigns, like these Pinterest-worthy, regrammable shots.
But there's no denying that the biggest draw is still the bottomless fries.
The only catch: The fries are only bottomless if you order a customizable burger. This isn't the first time McDonald's has experimented with their fries; in Japan they have chocolate-covered fries and the Philippines boast Twister (curly) fries.
