Teens Leave Glasses On Museum Floor & Pompous Idiots Ponder, "Is It Art?"
Anything can be art if you look at it long enough, right?
In breaking Internet news, two dudes put some glasses on a gallery floor.
I once visited an art museum in LA with an exhibition that was just a giant white-carpeted room with nothing on the walls but a small placard that said something along the lines of, "The footprints you make on this rug...that's the statement."
In an attempt to mock this kind of art and the people who eat it up, two teenage boys, @k_vinnnn and @TJCruda, pulled a little prank on the people visiting the San Francisco Museum Of Modern Art.
What even is art, tho?
After being unimpressed by installations like "a stuffed animal on a grey blanket," one prankster told Buzzfeed, they decided to leave a pair of glasses on the floor of the gallery. They placed the glasses facing outward, and then waited to see if anyone would respond to the object. Did they ever. Museum patrons treated the specs like an installation, standing around thinking deep thoughts or crouching to photograph the "art." Meanwhile, the boys waited nearby, reveling in the success of their prank and snapping Twitter pics.
But what does it MEAN?!
They even got a shoutout from SFMOMA.
Further evidence that pranks are performance art and Twitter is art and life is art and everything is art so just keep living cuz its just all art. 🙌
