This Makeup Hack Helps You Apply Foundation With An Unexpected Tool
Who needs a beauty blender when you have these?
Makeup pros swear by beauty blenders—the spongy Easter eggs are ridiculously effective at applying foundation flawlessly.
And while you can find plenty of cheap versions online now, the original Beautyblender still sells for $20.
But one beauty blogger discovered a secret that may save us all from overpriced makeup tools: socks.
That's right, socks.
Mayra made an entire tutorial that proves a good pair of socks can double as a much cheaper beauty blender. So a three-pack of Walmart socks are effectively 12 beauty blenders for less than $7.
Here's how it works: Simply twist the sock, fold it in half and flip the heel support inside out to make a wide, spongy surface.
The cushioned heel and toe make for the perfect material.
She notes a few benefits to the sock that a standard blender doesn't offer.
These include a super wide surface that makes blending faster and a fairly non-absorbent material so less foundation is wasted.
She also uses the sock to buff out her contouring cream.
BRILLIANT.
And she praises the control the sock provides when applying under-eye concealer.
And the best part? You can just throw it in the washing machine and use it again and again!
