Floral Essences Are The New Healing Craze For The Whole Foods Crowd
To each their own kooky herbal remedy.
If you walk the aisles at Whole Foods or into any boutique shop these days, you'll smell the essential oils before you see the lines of tiny bottles.
It's a tempting thought that you could hypothetically trade in your aspirin for mint oil or your Pepto Bismol for lavender oil and plenty of people swear by their effectiveness.
But now, floral essences are edging in as the new natural health and healing craze.
According to Flora Luna, one of the pioneers of floral essences,"Each essence is charged with the pure frequency of one of nature's most healing flowers."
But unlike essential oils, floral essences are safe for consumption, not just topical use.
Floral essences also differentiate from many other natural medicinal agents because the goal is not to incorporate any physical elements of the plant itself, but rather to infuse the unique frequency (invisible waves that each flower gives off) of the plant.
How exactly do you charge a liquid with the frequency of a flower, you may ask?
Well, those who make the essences describe their process as capturing the inherent vibrations of a flower in "water [where] the patterns, wisdom, magic, color, vibration and pure essence is held and then preserved in brandy.
I say they soak flowers in water and brandy.
Oh, and they also infuse exclusively according to an astrological calendar depending on the qualities they want in the essence.
Blends include Ghosts, Saturn Return, Third Eye, Grounding and essences of Passion, Release, Clarity and Flow.
For a taste of this philosophy, let's take a look at the Saturn Return description:
"The essence of watery Willow, teaches rooted balance within constant ebb and flow. Self-Heal activates our commitment to self-care so we are better able to assimilate truth. Chia essence provides upward momentum towards a new level of understanding."
Directions for use: 5 drops 3 x a day or 5 drops on your pillow at night for visionary dreams.
And no matter how odd this may sound, it's catching on very quickly.
There are a number of articles touting the powers of floral essences (yes, Gwyneth included) and you can find them on simplistically designed website boutiques everywhere.
So the next time you're feeling aimless, try 4-6 drops of Passionflower essence under your tongue. Or, don't. Your call.
