History books will tell you all about the many accomplishments (and failures) human beings have made in various battlefields. What often gets left out, though, is that many times, they weren't the only ones risking their lives out there. Dogs have been very useful helpers in combat in the past, and luckily some photos have survived to document these courageous canines.
