7 Celebs Who Are Totally Owning Their Stretch Marks

It's very difficult for many women to grasp that their bodies are never, at one point-in-time, the way they're "supposed" to be. But in reality, they're always as they're meant to be: a vehicle to experience life. A woman's body is a constant reflection of the life she's lived, complete with representations through scars, wrinkles and yes, stretch marks. 

Stretch marks are like proverbial war wounds that serve as a reminder of various life experiences. That summer your breasts ballooned up out of nowhere and were covered in purple lines meant you were becoming a woman. The spiderweb that covered your belly when you were pregnant with your first beautiful child is a constant reminder of your life blessing. The sooner women begin to accept that their bodies as ever-changing works of art, the sooner they can accept that it's something worth celebrating, taking care of and loving. 

In case you need a little boost, here are some celebrity role models who aren't afraid to show off their perfectly lived-in bodies, stretch marks included. 

Wife of John Legend, Lip Sync Battle Co-Host, Cook Book Author, Supermodel and Body-Positive-Instafamous-Mother, Chrissy Tiegan's got a title that runs longer than Daenerys Targaryen's.

Despite her many impressive titles, Chrissy is a human woman, and like most human women, she has stretch marks. In fact, she put them right out in the open, showing her lines off to her many Instagram followers. After posting this photo on her account last year, she adorably captioned it, "Bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretchies say hi!"

In an interview with TV host Meredith Viera, Tiegen spoke about photo apps and the idea of retouching her shared images, "I have those apps, the Facetune and Photoshopping ones, and I just didn't feel like doing it anymore and I'm never doing it again, because I think we forgot what normal people look like now."

Kendra is a 30-year-old Ex-Playboy Bunny, reality star and mother of two. This Mother's Day she took to Instagram to show her body as a proud representation of motherhood and all that goes along with it. Her caption warmed our hearts, "Look what my 2 babies did...They made me happy."

Model and ex-gal to Chris Brown, Karrueche Tran is another beautiful woman who isn't afraid to show off her "faults." She posted this image to her Instagram, proudly proclaiming, "These are my tiger marks." We have to admit, this is one beautiful butt, stripes or not.

This country singer and fitness enthusiast's body has been under public scrutiny for years. Many haters have commented on her being too thin or underweight, but this proud lady stands up to bullies, defends herself and works to empower other women to do the same. In an Instagram post, she flaunted her bikini bod (something she does frequently on her account), and added the caption: "They don't cover it all but (no pun intended) it doesn't look good on women when you have too much material. I hope to help all women embrace their bodies and be proud of their curves, stretch marks.... Whatever! (Stretch marks I have)." 

Runway model Jourdan Dunn posted this photo of herself and bestie Cara Delevingne and their new matching tattoos. However, the tattoo talk took backseat when commenters [read, raging hyenas] tore apart Jourdan and her visible stretch marks. Unlike, the commenters, we find it incredibly refreshing that, as a beautiful woman people look up to, she also has stretch marks and highlights them.

Lady Gaga is no stranger to making daring wardrobe decisions—you never know what she'll wear next. But what surprised a lot of people was what was wearing her, when she appeared on Good Morning America in 2013. The singer showed off her bod in a plunging white dress, which bared her stretch-mark adorned cleavage unapologetically because a woman should never have to apologize for her growing breasts!

Denise Bidot is a plus-size model making a name for herself in runways across the US. As the face of swimwear label swimsuitsforall, Bidot leads the campaign, "Beach Body. Not Sorry" which has the goal of helping women to embrace all of their lines and lumps. Bidot shot the entire campaign completely un-retouched in an effort to show off her stretch marks and cellulite, proving that a woman's body is perfect as is.
