This Beyoncé Craft Will Remind You Just Who Runs This World
(It's girls)
In 2011, Queen Bey blessed us with one of the most powerful female anthems ever.
(for your listening pleasure)
And now you can create a topically relevant reminder all your own.
1. Collect up your supplies
I used this globe which is a nice size for my desk (where this one lives), but would also look great on a bookcase or other shelf for decorative purposes.
2. Paint your globe
I used two coats of chalkboard paint (which also exists in spray paint form) for the nice matte finish.
3. Outline the world
I have video proof that I worked on realistically outlining the world for at least 15 minutes. It's not easy. I did my best and as long as you get some of the most recognizable landmarks in there, people will understand what your outline is supposed to be. That's my best advice. Don't stress too much.
4. Add some Beyoncé lyrics
I used a paint pen for the pink cursive letters and then cut up my stencil sheet into strips so I could easily color in the correct letters with chalk before covering it in glue and glitter. I simply glued over the chalk letter, covered it in loose glitter and tapped off the excess (in hindsight, glitter glue could have worked fairly well, but I do think the loose glitter gives a brighter look).
5. Bask in the glittery glow!
I also sealed the whole globe (especially the glittery letters) with a spray to avoid covering the whole office in glitter.
Warning: the sealant did significantly lighten and remove the chalk outline in some places, but I simply went over it again after it dried.
