Inspiring Story Proves Your Pizza Addiction May Save Your Life One Day
These are true pizza heroes.
This man will make you rethink all of your seemingly "bad habits" and wonder if they can actually save your life.
This man is next-level when it comes to his relationship with pizza, and the fine people who make and deliver that pizza.
People say unlikely things can save your life, and 47 year-old Kirk Alexander proved pizza is one of them.
This man loves pizza so much and orders it so frequently that when Domino's didn't hear from him for 11 days, they took action.
This Salem, Oregon native has been a loyal customer to Domino's pizza since 2009.
He probably gets more excited for his pizza to be delivered that Jared Leto getting pizza from Ellen at the Oscars.
Indiatimes reports that Kirk was familiar with the employees of Domino's and the employees were just as familiar with him and his order.
"He orders every day, every other day, said Sarah Fuller, the general manager of the outlet. "His order pops up on the screen because he orders online. So we see it come across the screen and we re like, Oh, Kirk s order."
But over a week and a half went by, and Domino's took notice. People started to worry.
So they did what any loyal pizza place would do for their customer, and they went to check on him.
"A few of my drivers had mentioned that we hadn't seen his order come across our screen in a while," Fuller told KATU.com.
Fuller found this very suspicious, so on Sunday morning she asked pizza delivery driver Tracey Hamblen to go check on him.
Hamblen arrived at Alexander's house and saw the lights and TV were on, but he did not answer the door or the phone when she called.
Long story short, Hamblen called the store and the store called the police. The county sheriff's office found Alexander lying on the floor having suffered a stroke several days prior.
Alexander was taken to the hospital, and he is in stable condition, leaving America to never again doubt the power of pizza.
Twitter had some feelings about this.
This man suggested too much pizza lead to Alexander's injuries.
But most people realized what an honor it is to be regarded so highly in the eyes of the pizza holders.
Thanks Domino's!
"[Alexander is] an important customer that s part of our family here at Domino s. He orders all the time so we know him. I think we were just doing our job checking in on someone we know who orders a lot. We felt like we needed to do something," said Fuller.
Turns out you don't just save people from falling victim to being hangry, you save them when they're in real danger, too!
