J. K. Rowling Wants You To Know She's Sorry For Ripping Your Heart Out
TBH, we're still not over it, Jo.
May 2 marks the 18th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, which saw the downfall of Voldemort, but also resulted in many casualties, including characters who were beloved by fans.
In keeping with the now yearly tradition, Rowling tweeted her apology. This year, she expressed remorse for killing off a character people loved dearly: Remus Lupin.
She went into some detail about why Lupin had to die, and the impact it had on her.
Not sure if this makes it better or worse, actually.
In 2015, Rowling apologized for the death of Fred Weasley, and later said that Fred was the worst death for her personally.
The Battle of Hogwarts had many casualties, on both sides, so this is a tradition that will (unfortunately) go on for many years to come.
No, Remus, we'll never feel better without you.
