Ryan Reynolds' Young Friend And Fan Dies Of Cancer; All Our Hearts Break
Sometimes superheroes are just plain super.
We all loved Ryan Reynolds as the snarky vigilante in "Deadpool."
And we definitely love him as husband to goddess Blake Lively and father to the enigmatic (and soon-to-be big sister) baby James.
Ryan has already blurred the line between film and real-life heroism, portraying Deadpool in a hilarious PSA about testicular cancer.
And now Ryan is tugging at our heartstrings again with the touching tribute he wrote to Connor McGrath, a 13-year-old Deadpool fan who lost his battle with cancer.
As Ryan explains in his post, he met Connor through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Ryan writes of Connor, "In a certain sense he WAS Deadpool," thanks to his tenacious spirit and "filthy (filthy!) sense of humor."
They had nicknames and texting conversations and Connor got to see the first rough cut of "Deadpool" with Ryan by his side, all thanks to Make-A-Wish.
