Europe Takes The 'This Used To Be A Pizza Hut' Game To Classy AF Levels
Europe: A mid-century bank turned into a McDonald's. America: A Pizza Hut turned into a McDonald's.
The Internet loves to point out crappy chain stores that used to be Pizza Huts (see: this subreddit). I too thought these were funny until I realized that our friends across the pond are much more imaginative with their repurposed spaces. I'm now slightly less proud to be an American.
Europe: This eco-friendly city hall in Belgium used to be an abandoned Coca-Cola factory.
America: This ATT&T store used to be an IHOP.
Europe: This book shop + art gallery in Lisbon started life as an old fabric factory.
America: This beauty shop was originally a Hollywood Video. (Can you tell?)
Europe: This dope indoor skate park in France was transformed from a defunct peanut factory.
America: This mattress store rose from the ashes of a Blockbuster Video.
Europe: Once upon a time, this hip office complex in Barcelona was a cement factory.
America: This vape shop was once a gas station.
Europe: This German amusement park was repurposed from a nuclear power plant.
America: This Salvation Army is a repurposed Pizza Hut.
Europe: This Norwegian McDonald's used to be a beautiful bank.
America: This McDonald's used to be an abandoned church.
Praise be to Ronald.
