Prince William And Prince Harry Turned Into Little Boys On The Star Wars Set
Attention: the Prince Bros had a lightsaber duel and it's really important.
When I was a little boy, I used to dream about being a Jedi.
In fact, I doubt there's a little boy (or now, thanks to Rey and future female characters in the Jedi canon, a little girl) who hasn't dreamed of being a Jedi. As I ran around my front yard, waving a stick and making the woosh! zzzsh! sound effects, all I wanted was a real lightsaber and a destroyable death star of my very own.
Since I can't visit the Star Wars universe, it would be a great consolation prize to at least visit the set of the new Star Wars movie, currently being filmed in London. But alas, I'm not rich, I'm not famous and I'm not royalty, which are the three types of people who get to visit a Star Wars movie set.
Speaking of rich and famous royalty, guess who actually did get to visit the Star Wars set? That's right, the Prince brothers, William and Harry. And wow, did they regress to boyhood faster than Mark Hamill could say "God save the Queen."
So here they are, Prince Harry and Prince William, visiting the London set of "Star Wars: Episode VIII"
The brothers met Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Chewbacca, among others. The set visit was Prince William's first stop after returning from his week-long tour of India and Bhutan, Vanity Fair reported.
Side note: basically everything I've ever wanted out of life is summed up in that single sentence.
William and Harry got to gab with Daisy Ridley for a while, and were even allowed to play with her Rey head cast.
Just look at those boyish grins! They each basically subtracted 25 years off their lives just by walking into the Star Wars set.
I mean seriously, here's Prince Harry hugging Chewbacca. It's like every six-year-old's dream.
Fun fact: Harry's hair is the same color as Chewbacca's arm hair. Wow, that's a lot of hair. Do you think Harry asked for the hug? I do.
But the greatest part of the whole day was a brother-to-brother lightsaber duel, and it was the most adorable thing the two have ever done.
You can even see Harry's mouth making a zzzsh sound effect. That's just the best. It's also hilarious that William, the older brother, got to use the blue Jedi lightsaber, while Harry had to use the red Sith saber. Classic brothers.
And of course, no Star Wars set trip is complete without a few droids.
Yep, before the prince bros had to go, they got to say hi to BB-8. Maybe William will buy his very own cute little robot and use it as his royal butler droid.
