We Can Officially Add 'Dora the Explorer' To List of Child Stars Gone Crazy
Just when you thought Swiper the Fox was the bad guy.
How well do we really know "Dora The Explorer?" Sure, she teaches kids how to go on adventures and she wears a pretty dope backpack, but did you know the spunky, Spanish-speaking cartoon has a seriously shady side?
Ok fine, so we're not talking about Dora exactly, but we are talking about the voice actors that play Dora, who have both gotten themselves into some teenage trouble over the years.
In what can only be described as "child's play," the voice behind "Dora the Explorer" was suspended from school for vaping.
15-year-old actress Fatima Ptacek was caught using a vape pen in a private high school bathroom last December. But that's not all. According to the Associated Press, Ptacek's former classmate was expelled for the same vaping mishap, while Ptacek was suspended for just three days, and the parents are now are now suing the school for the double standard.
Did we mention she was vaping caramel-flavored water? *gasp*
In the lawsuit, Ptacek is accused of peer-pressuring her friend to vape with her.
The expelled student's parents claim she'd never once been in trouble at school before, and just wanted to appear "cool" in front of the Dora actress.
After all, Dora did pressure Boots to go on all those crazy adventures with her every single day.
This isn't the first time Dora's been a bad influence. Back in 2010, Caitlin Sanchez, who voiced Dora from 2007-2010, sued Nickelodeon for not paying her enough money.
Caitlin claims to have only made about $300,000 for her work as Dora, including promotional merchandise and residuals from reruns. She believes Nickelodeon duped her out of millions of dollars.
Damn, Dora.
