Watch This Perfect Real-Life Remake Of Disney's 'Recess'
This "Recess" intro remake is 57 seconds of pure bliss.
A group of grade-A Canadian kids did what we've been wanting to do for 18 years now. They got together to remake the opening intro to Disney's "Recess"—AKA everyone's favorite One Saturday Morning cartoon. From the character's costumes to the frame-by-frame shots, the remake brings us straight back to 1998.
First thing's first: Spinelli is adorable.
The real Spinelli would pound us for saying it, but we assume T.J. also approves.
We imagined more Uni on King Bob, but other than that, this is beautiful.
Gretchen's overbite has improved tremendously.
Brains and beauty? Gretch, you knockout!
Upside down girl changed her undroos, but that's quite alright.
In reality, there's such a thing as laundry day and it's necessary.
Our middle school selves would totally crush on real life T.J. Detwiler.
Yo, T.J.— you see Spinelli lately!?
The Kindergartners aged a little too fast. Damn hormones.
Gus now wears a balloon (?) on his head instead of bubble gum—which is an improvement, really. Things are looking up for Gus.
Mrs. Filmore is a fetching work of art, as in the cartoon.
Randall's still as weasel, just with glasses in real life.
Vince's athleticism is still slightly condescending, but whatever.
Mikey is still reminding us the secret to happiness is sandwiches and poetry.
All-in-all, the gang is just about as wonderful in real life as they are animated.
These kids NAILED IT.
Bless ya'll for bringing this into our lives.
