The Trailer For The New Star Wars Film Shows It's The Darkest One Yet
This is like, a real Star Wars movie.
When "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was first announced, I was like, "yeah, I mean it sounds okay." But then I saw this trailer.
This movie is about as legit Star Wars as it gets. Sure, Han Solo, Luke and Leia aren't in it (that we know of), but it's got all the action, story and sweet space stuff that I'm so fond of as a Star Wars fan.
The movie's set just before Episode IV and is centered around a group of rebel spies attempting to steal the blueprints for the Death Star.
Doesn't that sound legit AF? It's a standalone story—meaning it's not one of the numbered episodes, but it still exists in the familiar universe of Star Wars.
There are plenty of other familiar elements in the trailer.
There's a Star Destroyer, of course. I wonder if we'll get to see any *ahem* particularly famous and sinister Sith lords *ahem*
AT-ATs make a comeback. You know, those sweet walkers from the Hoth battle in "The Empire Strikes Back."
The movie looks to have some seriously gritty action as well as some very compelling drama. Forest Whitaker is in the movie too, which was a surprise to me.
But the coolest part of all is that the franchise gets another female heroine in Jyn Erso.
Felicity Jones, who recently starred in "The Theory of Everything," plays Jyn, the lead role in the film.
The movie comes out in December, and I just don't know if I can wait that long.
