9 Unforgettable 'Powerpuff Girls' Moments We Hope To See Again In The Reboot
The Girls are back in Townsville!
"The Powerpuff Girls" revival series officially premieres Monday, April 4.
The series returns to Cartoon Network with 40 new episodes, after an 11-year break.
The show follows our favorite super trio as they fight villains, both new and old.
But plenty has changed since the last time we saw Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. Tom Kenny, the man behind the narrator and the mayor (and even SpongeBob), is the only voice actor returning to the series.
So, what do we hope comes back in the reboot?
1. All the humor
The writers definitely use the bobblehead kiddos to make plenty of under-the-radar grown-up jokes. Let's hope they keep it up the clever in the new series.
2. A PowerPuff turned evil
Who could forget the time Bubbles hit her head and thought she was Mojo Jojo? We want more girls gone bad in the reboot.
3. The Rowdyruff Boys
We need more gender-swapped characters to spice things up. Any Fionna and Cake fans??
4. A musical number
What better way to defeat a color-draining clown than by singing the happiest song ever, then beating him up? Fingers crossed for another iconic musical number like this one.
5. The ridiculous mayor
There's no disputing the bumbling mayor was one of the neediest characters in cartoon history. Seriously — the man would use the hotline to get the girls to open a jar of pickles.
We want his hilarious, dim-witted antics still running Townsville, please and thank you.
6. Bubbles being Bubbles
Even though we're more of a Blossom ourselves, we'll admit: Bubbles was probably the funniest character on the OG series.
7. The girls' colorful imaginations
As badass as they are, we have to remember the girls are only in Kindergarten. Remember when they were stuck indoors on a rainy day and recreated a typical day of fighting crime? Pure gold.
8. Bunny
Who could forget the fourth Powerpuff Girl? She was a little different from the other girls (to say the least).
The girls "accidentally" created Bunny when they were tired of saving the day themselves. It was a bummer, because she only appeared in one episode. Let's hope she makes a comeback in the new series.
9. Him
Both legitimately terrifying and hilarious, Him was a far better villain than most on TV. Cartoon Network needs to bring Him back so he can traumatize today's youth all over again.
Oh, and the best part? To welcome the show back on air you can Powerpuff yourself - and you don't even have to be a girl to get in on the fun.
Sugar and spice, and everything nice... AND CHEMICAL X!!! Powerpuff yourself here.
