9 Actors Who Play Horrifying Villains A Little Too Well
Maybe they're not really acting...
In a recent AskReddit thread, user KieranX pointed out something we've all noticed: some actors are ridiculously good at playing villains. A little TOO good.
The full question was this: "Which actor played the villain a little TOO well?"
We've all had a suspicion at one time or another that a particular actor is actually an evil, wicked person in real life and found in cinema an excuse to let their true personality show. But who are the truly evil ones?
1. Kathy Bates is an amazing actor. Either that, or she's secretly a murderer
It's just so real. We all probably know someone weirdly similar.
2. Ralph Fiennes makes for a damn good villain. Let's also not forget the Harry Potter movies and "In Bruges"
There are few things as evil as a Nazi. You've got me shaking in my boots, Fiennes.
3. Louise Fletcher was scary as hell in this movie. Mostly because she represented the evil, dumbing-down forces of society
And that is a truly frightening concept for a character.
Such creepy, skin-crawling villainy.
4. Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in "Silence of the Lambs" is doubtlessly the role referred to here
He was only on screen for 15 minutes in that movie, yet it defined his career. Watch him for 30 seconds and you can see why.
He'll give you nightmares forever.
5. Malcolm McDowell makes for an extremely terrifying villain/hero, and it's scary that one actor could play both roles at once
It's pretty insane that he can do both at once.
"And the first thing that flashed into my gulliver was that I'd like to have her right down there on the floor with the old in-out, real savage."
6. Javier Bardem has played a handful of great villains, but he takes the cake in this movie. WTF was that weapon he was carrying around?

I've never been so tense during a coin flip.
7. Daniel Day-Lewis is so freaking good at acting that it freaks me out by itself, let alone when he's playing a murderous gangleader
While watching this, I never doubted for a second that he was Bill the Butcher.
8. Jack Nicholson is outrageously scary. He might actually be unhinged
Those eyebrows though.
9. Christian Bale is pretty fantastic all the time, but this role solidifies him as a terrifying sociopath
It's like, "wow, that dude might really be a psychopath."
Patrick Bateman has been in plenty of my horrific dreams.
Who else belongs on the list of the great villain actors?
