Omaha Tries To Solve Its STD Problem With Hideous Condom Prom Dresses
You may have seen a tragic prom dress or two in your day, but you've never seen one made out of condoms.
The wholesome folks in Omaha, Nebraska seem to have a serious STD problem on their hands.
In 2012, more than 4,400 STD cases were reported in Douglas County, according to Get Checked Omaha. That's one of the highest rates in the country.
Damn, Nebraska. You dirty.
Just in time for prom season, the 'Adolescent Health Project' kicked off a sex ed initiative that's both hip and practical: prom dresses made out of condoms.
"This is a great opportunity for us to reach teens and their parents in an unexpected way before prom, and get the message out to think twice before having unprotected sex, because it can lead to multiple health risks or even a baby," Gary Mueller, Creative Director of SERVE, a non-profit ad agency involved in the campaign, told WOWT .
Because as we know, all teen girls wants a multi-tiered dress made out of flaccid dicks.
The dresses are currently on display in two of Omaha's local formal stores.
BRB, planning a road trip.
The creators hope this project will encourage teens and their parents to have honest conversations about safe sex.
But we all know the only thing this is going to encourage is just lots of horny, easy-access action. #OmahaProm2016
