This Girl Clapped Back at Body Shaming Tweets With Only 4 Photos
People think bigger girls can't follow fashion trends. This college student just proved them wrong.
This is Sara Petty. She's a college student and Bowling Green State University who shut down online body shamers without any words at all.
Having people tell her what she could and couldn't wear because of her body type wasn't anything new for Petty, so she set out to prove the haters wrong.
She found dumb tweets saying girls over 200 pounds shouldn't wear crop tops, so she clapped back with a smile.
“I had seen a tweet from someone saying that 200-pound girls shouldn’t wear bikinis,” she told The Huffington Post. “I just did some quick searches and found a bunch of similar tweets, so I decided I could do my part to chip away at body-shaming however I could.”
None of the awful tweets were directed at her, but the 20-year-old queen didn't let that stop her from directly addressing the issue.
She shared photos of herself in shorts, a crop top, a swimsuit and leggings, along with the caption "Girls: Wear whatever the hell you want."
Sadly enough, all of the body shaming tweets were written by women.
“I hope women realize how important it is to stop tearing each other down and uplift each other,” Petty wrote to HuffPost. “We have a lot going against us as women, we don’t need other women against us, too.”
Tell 'em, girl!
