"Ask A Porn Star" is a series from YouTube Channel Wood Rocket.
In the series posted to the Wood Rocket channel, Porn stars weigh in on all kinds of porn-related issues, from their grossest on-set experiences to whether or not their families know they do porn. Most recently, some of the industry's famous performers weighed in on the question "Is Porn Harmful to Couples?" Their answers might surprise you a bit.
According to Kimberly Kane who's starred in such films as "Squealer" and "Belladonna's Girl Train," porn can be harmful to couples.
But this is only the case, Kane believes, "if the guy or girl is in another room, like, furiously masturbating obsessively to porn and not taking care of the needs of their partner." Makes sense - it's more about the neglect than the actual presence of porn in the home. It's never good to neglect the sexual needs of your partner - there's no way you can harbor a strong, trusting relationship without being on the same page sexually.
Rain DeGrey, who turned heads all over the adult film industry with 2014's "Ass Trauma," does not believe porn is harmful to couples.
In DeGrey's opinion, porn has improved her sex life. Her take on it is more personal than philosophical - porn in the relationship is "hot, for the concept that he is surfing the internet looking at hot bitches while using my mouth hole. That turns me on." Her candor is appreciated. Of course, this isn't the case for everyone, but it's no surprise that some couples would find porn spices up their sex life.
"Bruthaload: Volume 5" star Mickey Mod thinks "the real problem is people don't communicate."
There's no reason to think that one particular partner's interest in pornography is to blame for the problems in a relationship - there's more likely an underlying issue. Perhaps one partner's penchant for porn watching is due to a lack of trust and communication between the couple. Perhaps porn watching habits are a way for one partner to avoid the other.
Whatever the reasoning is, sexuality shouldn't be a problem in and of itself in a real relationship. As Mod, one of the leads in "The Punished Coed" believes, "if one partner really is into porn and one partner is really not into porn, that could cause some friction." Spot on.
But perhaps most poignantly, Vyxen Steel, who you may know from "Bra Busters 7," believes porn can help couples discover each other in a better way.
While Steel thinks you can learn about different positions and foreplay through watching porn with your partner, she doesn't just mean "discover" in the physical sense. Watching porn with your partner can foster a deeper connection and more trust, emotionally and sexually.
