Kim Kardashian's Nude Selfie Mural Was Just Slut-Shamed & This Is Not OK
Seriously? Will the slut-shaming ever stop?
So, street artist Lush Sux painted a giant, 30-foot mural of Kim Kardashian's infamous nude selfie in a Melbourne laneway.
The reality star broke the Internet with her nude selfie on March 7, and literally everyone had something to say about it.
Aaaaand just one day after it went up, someone spray-painted the word "SLUT," because the world is full of haters.
Now, you don't have to LOVE Kim Kardashian or even like her for that matter, but writing the word "slut" across the mural?? That's just tasteless.
This, of course, comes after the reality star penned an essay about slut-shaming on International Women's Day after her nude pic caused an uproar on social media.
"It's 2016. The body-shaming and slut-shaming it's like, enough is enough. I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me. I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy," Kim wrote on her website.
Kim actually made a great point in her essay/quasi-feminist rant, which is that no one should even be bothered by what she's doing - different things empower different women and we can't shame a woman for wanting to embrace her sexuality.
For the brief moment of the mural's life, at least some got to enjoy it and hopefully feel empowered.
UNCOOL, guys... UNCOOL.
