Star Wars' Daisy Ridley Just Took on Instagram Body Shamers and Won, Big Time
"I will not apologise for how I look, what I say and how I live my life..."
You probably know who Daisy Ridley is by now, but in case you need a refresher, she starred as Rey in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Her star is definitely on the rise, which of course means that people are going to start criticizing her for every little thing.
Someone on Instagram created this image, suggesting that Ridley's thin frame in the movie sets a bad example for young girls.
It seems the person who posted this forgot what a badass Rey is and didn't think she'd have anything to say about it. Ridley found the Instagram post and fired back.
"'Real women' are all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all levels of brave, have families, don't have families. I am a 'real woman' like every other woman in this world."
The original poster has since deleted their account after receiving hate comments from Star Wars fans. Ridley took to her Instagram account to defend herself and discourage people from being hateful toward one another on social media.
"Kindness isn't going to cure the world of its awfulness but it's a good place to begin."
This commenter also made this important point about Rey's appearance on Ridley's Instagram post.
You tell 'em, queen!
