'Star Wars' Fans, We Could Be Getting 10 New Films In The Coming Years
Following the success of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," film executives are in talks for five further movies, equaling a total of TEN potential new "Star Wars" movies.
"Star Wars" fans, the Force is in your favor - movie executives at Disney are reportedly planning TEN new films, five after 2020.
As fanatics know, the franchise has already planned five further films - two trilogy episodes and three spin-offs - after the success of "The Force Awakens."
"The success of The Force Awakens has given executives much to think about," a source told The Sun. "So many characters' back-stories and futures can now be brought to life. When these ideas came from George Lucas 40 years ago, technology was lagging behind. Now they can be turned around in a year."
Though "The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams won't be directing the eighth film (Rian Johnson will be instead), he can still confirm that "exciting" things are happening for the franchise.
"There are some really cool things being discussed. It is very exciting to see how it is being put together," he said.
A solo spin-off movie for Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi is reportedly one idea being considered. Um, we'd do anything to have Ewan McGregor return to play Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan was also played by the late Sir Alec Guinness.
Another Jedi Master who may also get his own spin-off is Mace Windu.
A fan on Reddit previously asked if there was any truth to rumors that A.J. Edwards could be directing a new "Star Wars movie," to which he reportedly responded: "Talking about it, not able to say a lot yet," and added: "It will focus on Mace Windu."

In the meantime, "Spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is set to be released in December 2016, while the next two movies in the trilogy are due for release in 2017 and 2019. Han Solo and Boba Fett movies are expected to drop in 2018 and 2019.
Hell yeah, we'll take ten new "Star Wars" movies!
