Leonardo DiCaprio's Old Family Pic Turns Into A Women's Rights Debate
"It's so funny I am part of a generation that wants to "free the nipple," but freaks out when women have hair in their armpits."
Leonardo DiCaprio won his first Oscar at the 88th Academy Awards on Feb. 28, and the world rejoiced.
We were so happy for him!
Look at this adorable throwback photo of baby Leo with his parents, George and Irmelin, which was shared after his big Oscar win.
The photo, reportedly taken in 1976, was shared by All Day Media's History in Pictures a couple days after Leo took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Revenant.
But of course, since this is the Internet where no innocent family photo is safe, people began chiming in on - not how cute Leo's family was - but instead, his mom's armpit hair.
It's now turned into a heated debate over whether or not women should shave their armpit hair or go ~au naturel~ and embrace it.
This person thinks Leo's mom's "armpits are disgusting."
This person called her unshaven pits "unladylike" and also said that "feminism is stupid."
Meanwhile, this person believes that if women don't want to shave their armpits, they can't be offended when someone calls them "dirty."
Because apparently, armpit hair is disgusting for women - but not for men!
And this person was just downright mean.
Others noted that "this was a different time" so it was "normal."
"Who cares anyway?"
Did you know women grew hair in their armpits?!
"Get over it."
This woman pointed out the insane irony of being "part of a generation that wants to 'free the nipple' but freaks out when women have hair in their armpits."
Preach.
To some, armpit hair is even a turn on!
Several people showed support for Leo's mom by posting photos of their own armpit hair.
"*Slow clap* YASSS"
BUT REALLY THOUGH, let's focus on the family photo being adorable and sentimental. People - yes, women, too! - have armpit hair, and "that's life baby."
So anyway, back to Leo winning his first Oscar. You're a rockstar.
