The New 'Ghostbusters' Trailer Is Here And Slimier Than Ever
The all-female cast is just as badass as we imagined.
The wait is over! The first trailer for the "Ghostbusters" reboot debuted on March 3, showing our new female fighter squad in action, an abundance of jokes, and slime... lots of it.
Just like the original 1984 film, they approach (what seems like) a peaceful ghost in a library...
....aaaand then this slime attack happens. SO. MUCH. SLIME.
"That stuff went everywhere, by the way. In every crack. Very hard to wash off," Kristen Wiig's character, Erin Gilbert says.
So, ghost-sitings are all over the city, which means it's time to assemble a badass team. There's quirky nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon)...
...Erin, the quantum physics star.
...paranormal researcher Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy)...
...and last but not least, the fabulous Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), a NYC subway worker who volunteers to help because of her acute understanding of the Big Apple's paranormal sightings.
We also get our first look at super hot receptionist, Chris Hemsworth, which, HELLO GORGEOUS.
Anyway, they're ready to save New York from a villain who's amplifying paranormal activity with a new device - and they're ready for action.
This doesn't just feel like a remake of the original though. Between new characters and awesome digital effects, there's also a brand new twist...
...ghosts can possess the human form(!!).
Which can be both confusing and terrifying, especially when they take on the form of one of their own.
Who ya gonna call to see "Ghostbusters" when it hits theaters on July 15?
