This Artist Creates Insane Watercolors Of Nature And Animals

Luqman Reza Mulyono, an Indonesian artist, has taken watercolor to a whole new level. Mulyono gives a unique (and often psychedelic) twist to typical animals and images of nature, and it's something you have to see.

Luqman Reza Mulyono is an artist based in Indonesia, but it really doesn't matter where you live - this art will speak to you.

Typically, watercolor is associated with a lot of bleed, but Mulyono's technique perfectly allows for an exceptional blend of bleed and precision. Some of Mulyono's pieces, like "Azure Dragon," evoke themes of Southeast Asian heritage and culture.

The usage of color is truly moving and inspiring.

Though the pieces typically capture nature and animals, they far transcend typical watercolor paintings of nature and animals. "Scorpion," for instance, uses the namesake creature's symbolism in a number of effective ways. The coloring and star-like use of white evokes the feeling of a constellation, and this makes the viewer consider two massively different scales at once - universal and insect-like.
