If You Need More Convincing To Buy A Drone, The Enterprise Quadcopter Is It
You're never too old (or too geeky) for an awesome toy like this.
Spin Master, the company behind the "Air Hogs" RC cars, helicopters and planes recently revealed a drone version of the USS Enterprise.
"Star Trek" fans will notice that this model of the Enterprise is NCC-1701-A, the second federation ship with the Enterprise name. It may not be the original ship (it appeared in "Star Trek" films IV-VI), but it's still super cool and a must-have for Trekkies.
The drone is coming out in the fall, and Twitter is already pretty excited about it.
The drone's release is meant to coincide with the 50th anniversary of "Star Trek."
The drone is a "quadcopter," meaning it has four rotors located inside the framework of the saucer section that steer and propel the drone.
The drone also has built-in sound effects, including sounds for entering warp speed and its classic phaser.
Here's the drone's controller.
Now you can really feel like Captain James T. Kirk. Imagine all the sweet flips and tricks you could do with an Enterprise drone.
The drone goes on sale in September.
It's a bit of a wait, but you'll be able to buy it for $120 from Spin Master. In the meantime, you can fulfill your desire for sci-fi toys with a Millennium Falcon drone or an RC X-Wing.
I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SEPTEMBER.
