The Weasley's Location Clock Exists In Real Life So Magic Must Be Real
All the points to Gryffindor!
Undoubtedly one of the coolest wizarding gadgets was the Weasley's location-specific clock.
But unfortunately no matter how hard we try, we aren't magic.
Luckily for us, this Redditor made his very own digital version of the Weasley clock.
First, he hollowed out an old clock and designed the face itself
The design includes the first initials of each of the six family members in each of the six sectors (Home, Work, Holiday, Mortal Peril, Forest and On The Way).
Each family member could set their own location requirements so for example, one "Mortal Peril" light is triggered by a particularly cold forecast, while the designer's is when he's in the radius of his rival college's campus.
The If This Then That (IFTTT) app then uses location cues to send notification to the clock LED lights to light up in different situations.
And the coolest feature!? The glowing 'B' changes to a set color for each family member before their location changes!
The magic (read: technology) behind the clock uses background location services on each member's cell phone to track their locations.
He explains that the hardware in the clock is a "Particle Photon connected via a breadboard to an addressable LED strip"
And to me, a mere muggle that translates to magic.
