Photographer Mike Palmer knows that at times, simply reading about the unfamiliar isn't enough... so he took a canoe. Ontario’s Burwash Correctional Facility hasn't been used since the 1970's and is so remote that you have to cross the Wanapetei River via boat to get there. The prison that once housed inmates is now crumbling under the elements and gives off a very eerie vibe, but Mike braved it all to get some incredible shots. I really don't know if I'd be able to be so courageous...
