There's Something Extremely Dirty Hidden In This Chinese New Year Poster
Exactly how is that supposed to be a monkey?
Lehu Zhang is a graphic designer in San Francisco.
Zhang is a Chinese man living in the Bay area. Monday, February 8th was Chinese New Year's day, and Zhang designed a poster to celebrate the Year of the Monkey.
This is the poster Zhang designed.
Um...
So do you, like, see a resemblance or anything?
Because I don't. What I see is very, very inappropriate.
I can't be the only one with a dirty mind here...
And thankfully, I'm not. The poster has gone viral, and people have taken to Twitter to make their thoughts on the poster known.
Still early in the year, and people are already calling it the "#designfail of the year."
It took some people a little bit longer to reach the same conclusion...
...But the image has eventually gone on to penetrate the imaginations of people all over Twitter.
Get it? Hehehe.
Mostly, the poster has been pretty confusing to the Twitterverse.
The poster itself has, in some ways, seems to overshadow the celebration of The Chinese New Year, which is kind of sad. Chinese people deserve to have their ethnicity celebrated in a fair, positive light. But, as an aside I mean, this poster exists and it's just ridiculously filthy.
Not everyone agreed with the #designfail. Some people actually loved its minimalism.
What do you think? Brilliant design or total #designfail?
