Take Your Shoes Off Before Walking On These Rugs, They're Works Of Art
These are almost too beautiful to be considered rugs.
You could consider it a bit of a family trade - her ancestors were Argentina's first rug makers.
“I grew up surrounded by rugs,” she told Instagram. “I realized that the knowledge of rugs I had was in my genes. Using it as an artist became inevitable."
She uses scraps and spare materials from her family's Buenos Aires factory to make mural-like backdrops that one can't help but get lost in.
"The pieces are big and feel infinite. They are meant to be portals that have the power of taking you where your memories are.”
Not all of Kehayoglou's rugs stretch up walls. But they are all mindblowingly beautiful.
"The style that I’ve created is an abstraction of landscapes from my country. I would like everyone that looks at my pieces to feel that they are entering a new context."
After all, it is in her blood.
