Caring For 200 Dogs Sounds Like A Handful But This Woman Makes It Look Easy
And you thought two pets was a handful...
Jung Myoung Sook doesn't have much, but what she does have is a love for dogs and a heart of gold.
The 61-year-old from South Korea has spent that past 26 years of her life rescuing dogs from restaurants and food companies.
There is still a large constituent of people in South Korea and other parts of Asia who eat dogs as a delicacy.
But Jung has made it her primary goal in life to keep that from happening. And as of right now, she's rescued over 200 dogs and puppies.
While she doesn't own her own home and spends most of her money on provisions for her dogs, she and her pups are still plenty happy.
“My babies aren’t hungry,” Jung told the Associated Press. “They can play and live freely here."
Certain locals look down on Jung, labeling her as "the crazy dog lady," but she doesn't let their comments distract her from taking care of her huge family of rescues.
“Some people talk about me, saying, ‘Why is that beggar-like middle-aged woman smiling all the time,’" said Jung. “But I just focus on feeding my babies. I’m happy and healthy.”
And based on her radiant joy, we're willing to take her for her word for it.
