This Contractor Sculpts Works Of Art Into Drywall To Create Stunning Murals
Don't you dare paint over Bernie Mitchell's drywall.
For a contractor or homebuilder, applying drywall is just another part of the process. But for Bernie Mitchell, it's a means of expression.
Artistic expression, to be exact.
And it's almost unbelievable to think a residential contractor could make something so magnificent.
Mitchell takes layers of drywall and meticulously carves detailed, nature scenes into them, much like a sculptor would.
The contractor by day, artist by night is inspired by the nature surrounding his Ontario home.
But he most enjoys creating works of birds - namely local ones like hawks, blue herons, osprey, and loons.
Mitchell's works aren't cheap, as they're all custom jobs, but the results are well worth the investment.
And unlike a two-dimensional painting, his murals take on different appearances depending on the light.
Can you believe this is the work of a contractor?
It's not. It's the work of an artist.
