This Kid Climbing A Pyramid Totally Freaked Us Out For Multiple Reasons

by N/A, 9 years ago | 2 min read

Disrespectful to one of history's greatest monuments, or an incredible feat of extreme climbing? You decide.

History Extreme Sports Pyramids Non-Premium

Andrej Ciesielski is an 18 year old living in Munich, Germany.

Ciesielski has a penchant for climbing things he probably shouldn't. Some of the videos on his YouTube channel show him climbing insanely high structures around the world with nothing more that his hands, feet, and a little determination, and they'll really get your palms sweating. Why he does it, I can't be sure, but I'm fairly certain it has something to do with the insane adrenaline burst he probably gets from all the (often illegal) climbing, as well as some pretty amazing YouTube videos. Let's just hope he's careful with his hobby. And please, whatever you do, do not try to duplicate Ciesielski's climbs.

Watch the full video of Ciesielski's ascent here.

If you're afraid of heights, hate breakin' the rules or despise people who have no respect for history, this is your absolute worst nightmare.

Like any climb, Ciesielski's ascent of the pyramids started at the bottom.

I'm amazed nobody stopped him, but one he started, he was on a roll.

After a few minutes of climbing, we get a look at another pyramid in the distance for height comparison.

Here's Ciesielski taking a quick break to check out the scenery.

At this point in the video, my palms really started sweating.

This is what the top of the pyramid looks like–you'll be glad Ciesielski made it to the top alive.

Very, very few people ever get to see the pyramid from this angle. The pyramid is 146 meters tall, by the way (which is nearly 480 feet).

The view of Giza (and also the city of Cairo, later in the video). It's totally breathtaking. If you haven't freaked out yet from fear of heights, congratulations, because I have.

As a reminder, this is totally illegal and you shouldn't do it. Someone surely had a word or two for Ciesielski when he reached the bottom. You can check out more of Ciesielski's insane climbs on his Instagram and YouTube channel.
