Sometimes, if you're running up against a deadline, you have to keep working. Just write what you can, even if you don't feel like it's necessarily your best. You can work with an editor to help refine what you've worked on, but you have to have words on the page in order to get that help.

6. Take a walk. 

Get a new perspective and clear your head by getting some fresh air for a bit. There are tons of cognitive benefits to taking a walk, so it'll help to get your wheels turning.
