Two Is Better Than One - Now You Can Have A Cinnamon Roll & Donut Together
HEAVEN EXISTS... in the form of this donut, at least.
It's common knowledge that donuts and cinnamon rolls are the most delicious breakfast foods on the planet... so just imagine consuming them BOTH in one bite. Behold, the cinnamon roll donut.
The cinnamon roll donut was created by New York City pastry chef Thiago Silva while he was working for the restaurant Catch. He came up with the idea from another donut he created consisting of apple pie filling.
"I thought the idea was cool if I put a cinnamon roll [inside] but it would have to be raw and cook at the same time as the donut," he told Mashable.
No, you're not dreaming - there's a cinnamon roll stuffed inside the glazed donut (ohmygod).
Silva admits that there are "a lot of tricky elements" to making the donut and that "it's easy to get wrong." It took some practice, but he was able to master the craft of creating a donut thin enough to cook the cinnamon roll inside and thick enough to hold it all together... using his knowledge of cooking ravioli.
Catch serves the masterpiece with pumpkin ice cream, a spiced rum sabayon and cranberry pomegranate sauce. NOMZ.
As for his next concoction, Silva said: "I'm always trying to think outside the box."
